As the very name goes, Boudh was once a significant Buddhist centre in Odisha which has been confirmed as an archaeological fact. Located centrally in the Map of Odisha, Boudh is traversed by river Mahanadi and its tributaries, along which lie the extensive riverine fertile plains. The socio-economic genesis of the people of Boudh lies in the agrarian economy which is due to large and extensive fertile plains suitable for cultivation. Boudh district is presently on its march towards progression and development by leaps and bounds for which time alone shall remain testimony to its future.

1. Aims and Objects of the Organization:
a) To look after the sanitation of the town.
b) To maintain its roads .drains & streetlights.
c) To manage the waste generated (both solid & liquid) from the town in a scientific manner.
d) To implement the schemes of Central Govt. & State Govt. on poverty alleviation.
e) To plan the town in a scientific manner.

2. Mission/ Vision:
a) Council have a proposal to declare Marjakud polyethylene free area by December-2010.
b) Council have proposal to declare Boudh town as zero garbage town by December-2010.
c) We have proposal to upgrade 50% of BPL families to APL by March-2012.

3. Brief History & Back ground for its Establishment:
Boudhgarh NAC is constituted in the year 1961.lt is the only Urban Local Body in the District. As per 2001 censes population of Boudhgarh NAC is 18025, out of which 4030 & 378 belong to SC & ST respectively. The NAC is divided in to 17 Wards. Ward No13&14 constitute an Island in the river Mahanadi.
